The site has been a Market Garden for many years and has only been open to the public since 2009.
The first stage of the development was to section a portion of the land into allotments for people living locally.
Following the success of the allotments the next stage was to construct a commercial polytunnal from which we sell bedding plants and hanging baskets. The Little Gift Shop now runs the Nursery and also stocks a range of unusual gifts, hand made cards, fresh free range eggs , local homey and much more.
The latest stage was to introduce a Coffee Shop onto the site, which offers a wide range of home cooked snacks and meals from the already famous ‘double breakfast’ to home made cakes and a range of hot and cold drinks including freshly squeezed orange juice.
As the weather gets warmer the small Marquee will add additional seating area, where parents can watch their children on the Trampoline, or playing in the Sandpit or on the Basketball net.
Viaduct Nurseries is also home to two miniature Donkeys , Woody and Dylan who love to be made a fuss of and fed carrots and apples which are available free of charge.
We are a free, fun family place to visit.
We are planning many more additions to the site in the coming months, this is just the beginning!
